NYC Studio Apartment

The client wanted concealed ample storage, warm tones, wood accents, and places to showcase their creative talents.

I began with the layout. The studio has a slant where the windows and balcony meet. We placed the bed in the alcove with a shelf above, under-bed storage drawers, a sconce for intimate lighting, and track curtains that can be shifted for privacy while also concealing the closet.

Replaced the flooring with oak parquet to add warmth. The client wanted to add color but nothing over the top, so we painted the existing kitchen cabinets in Novelty Wave by Backdrop. Replaced the upper cabinets with open shelving to open the space and lift the eye.

This studio apartment redesign seamlessly blends functionality and beauty, creating a space that is both practical and aesthetically pleasing. With careful attention to layout, storage, decor, and lighting, every square inch of the apartment is utilized to its fullest potential, resulting in a home that is as functional as it is beautiful.
